  31. Installing a Printer Driver
  32. ---------------------------------
  33. 1.  In the Main group, choose the Control Panel
  34.     icon.
  35.  
  36. 2.  In Control Panel, choose the Printers icon.
  37.  
  38.     The Printers dialog box appears. If you have
  39.     never installed a printer, the dialog box
  40.     expands to display a list of printers available
  41.     in the Windows version 3.1 package, and the Add
  42.     button is unavailable. Go to step 8.
  43.  
  44. 3.  Choose the Add button.
  45.  
  46.     The dialog box expands to display the List Of
  47.     Printers.
  48.  
  49. 4.  In the List Of Printers box, select Install
  50.     Unlisted or Updated Printer.
  51.  
  52. 5.  Choose the Install button.
  53.  
  54.     A dialog box appears, instructing you to insert
  55.     the disk that has the printer-driver file on it.
  56.  
  57. 6.  Insert the disk you made during the downloading
  58.     procedure, or type the path of the directory
  59.     where you downloaded the driver. Then choose the
  60.     OK button.
  61.  
  62.     Another dialog box appears, listing several
  63.     printers.
  64.  
  65. 7.  In the List Of Printers box, select the printer
  66.     you want.
  67.  
  68. 8.  Choose the OK button.
  69.  
  70.     The Printers dialog box appears. Your printer is
  71.     listed in the Installed Printers list.
  72.  
  73. 9.  Choose the Close button.
  74.  
  75. 10. For instructions on how to configure your
  76.     printer, see Chapter 5, "Control Panel," in the
  77.     "Microsoft Windows User's Guide."

  80. Updating the Universal Printer Driver (UNIDRV.DLL)
  81. --------------------------------------------------
  82. The Windows Driver Library includes the most current
  83. version of the Universal Printer Driver.  To update
  84. UNIDRV.DLL:
  85.  
  86. 1  Change to the disk or directory to which you
  87.    downloaded.
  88.  
  89. 2  At the MS-DOS prompt, type:
  90.  
  91.       copy unidrv.dll <path>
  92.  
  93.    where <path> is the drive and directory containing
  94.    your existing unidrv.dll file.
  95.  
  96. This overwrites your existing UNIDRV.DLL file.
